Today we want to shift to the women where we will be revealing the Richest Woman in Nigeria 2016 And Richest Woman in Africa 2016/2017 . As they say “what a man can do a woman can do it better” , i so much believe in this saying because the females have proven themselves equal to the task in all areas as well as the academic aspect and otherwise . taking a close look at Africa, Nigeria in particular you would see that the woman don’t come out last in any area they are always topping all list when it comes to good things .

Who is The Richest Woman in Nigeria 2016

There are many hardworking women in Nigeria and the noteworthy thing here is that they are very famous and rich . In any situation where there are many contestant aspiring for a given position , there is alway that person that will always stand out from the horde . Yes! there are a lot of wealthy women in Nigeria but a certain woman stands out amongst them all. She is Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija , she is not only the richest in Nigeria also the richest in Africa as well according to Forbes Magazine . Forbs later said that she is one of the richest black women in the world . According to the article , Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija estimated worth is over USD 2.5 billion dollars .


It is understandable that a lot of persons reading this article may not know much or nothing about this African richest woman Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija  , for that reason i am going to officially introduce her to you right away .

The richest woman in Nigeria and Africa , Folorunsho Alakija was born in 1951 in Ikorodu, Lagos state of Nigeria to the family of Chief L.A Ogbara. She attended her primary school in the United Kingdom at Dinorben School for Girls, Hafodunos Hall, Llangernyw, Wales. After rounding up her elementary education , she travelled back to Nigeria where she attended her secondary school education at the Muslim High school, Sagamu, Ogun State. After completing her formal education, she moved back to the United Kingdom to bag a diploma in Secretarial Studies from Pittman’s Central College.

When she was finally through with school she decided to go into  fashion business and the zeal for fashion motivated her to study fashion design at the American College, London and the Central School of Fashion. Thereafter , she returned to her country Nigeria to start her life properly where she got a job as an Executive Secretary. Folorunsho Alakija once worked with Sijuade Enterprises, Lagos and First National Bank of Chicago also in Lagos. At some point she wasn’t satisfied with her job , she gave up her job with the plan to invest in her fashion business . She started with the establishment of Supreme Stiches, a tailoring company which eventually became Rose of Sharon House of Fashion . She was one of the few Nigerians who were lucky enough to win a bid for the allocation of Oil Prospecting Licenses (OPL) that was in the year 1996 .

The second richest woman in Africa is another beautiful woman,  Isabel dos Santos . This woman is the eldest daughter of Angola’s longtime president Jose Eduardo dos Santos. She has alot of investments and currently working on broadening and expanding her investments. She is a controlling stakeholder in Portugal Telecom Company Nos SGPS, she owns not less than 19 percent of Portuguese bank Banco BPI .

Another wealthy Woman from Africa is Ngina Kenyatta who is from Kenya . They are the three richest women in Africa ;
